New Delhi: In a major overhaul at the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, as many as seven ministers were elevated to the cabinet rank.
Anurag Thakur, G Kishan Reddy, Parshottam Rupala, Kiren Rijiju, Hardeep Singh Puri, G Kiswan Reddy, Mansukh Mandaviya and RK Singh took an oath as a minister.
Parshottam Rupala, who is currently MOS (agriculture), is also promoted as a minister of cabinet.
G Kishan Reddy also increased from MOS ranking.
In addition, Mansukh Mandaviya and RK Singh took an oath as a minister of cabinet, another promotion for the existing state minister.
This is the first reshuffle at the Council of Ministers by the Prime Minister Modi because he assumes the cost for the second term in May 2019.
With this reset, Modi has brought a young face and has also given representation to various social groups and regions in reshuffle.
Before a massive reshuffle, several heavy-class ministers resigned, while 43 new faces joined the government.
On the new ministerial council, there were four former major ministers, 18 former State Minister, 39 former MLA and 23 parliamentarians who had been chosen for three or more terms.
When the Modi government received a makeover, the new minister’s board was being formed in terms of experience and qualification.
Hours before the expansion of the cabinet, scheduled to be held at 6pm at Rashtrapati Bhawan, several ministers including Vardhan, Pokhriyal and Sadanda Gowda as well as the Minister of Santosh Gangsar, Minister of State for Education Sanjay Dhotre, the State Minister Debate Development of Women and Children Chaudhuri, Minister of State For Jal Shakti Rattan Lal Kataria, the Minister of State for the neighborhood of Babul Supriyo resigned from their position.
