New Delhi: Union Minister Narayan Rane was arrested after triggering a dispute over his statement about slapping Mahit Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray for what he claimed was the last ignorance of the year of independence.
Rane was detained by police in coastal district Ratnagiri, where he traveled as part of Jan Ashirwad Yatra.
Rane was taken to the Sangameshwar police station after being detained, the official said.
“It was very embarrassing that the minister’s chairman did not know the year of independence.
He bent to ask about the count of independence during his speech.
If I was there, I would give (he) a tight slap,” Rane said in the Raigad district side by Monday.
This is what says in this matter: JP Nadda: Head of BJP JP Nadda in a Tweet said the Maharashtra government’s decision to capture Narayan Rane opposed constitutional values and we would not be blocked by such actions.
Devendra Fadnavis: Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Bharatiya Party Leader Janata (BJP) Devendra Fadnavi slammed the Maharashtra government for using the police to suppress opposition in the state.
“We do not support Narayan Rane’s statement.
But see the way the government uses the police to act in a way without law, we will support Rane as individuals and all parties with him,” he said.
Suspecting that the State Police Force was used as a tool for “political vendetta”, he said there must be law and order and “not governance such as the Taliban”.
Chandrakant Patil: Maharashtra President BJP Chandrakant Patil distanced himself from Rane’s statement.
“I did not defend Rane’s comments, but I also would not reveal regret,” Patil said.
RAMDAS ATHAWAR: Union Minister Ramdas Athaware said Rane did not intend to insult Thackeray and would clarify that Thackeray did nothing for the development of Maharashtra and he rarely left his ‘Matoshree’ residence in Mumbai to understand the problems faced by people.
Rane means that a minister has no right to occupy seats.
This is his feelings, “he said Maharashtra minister.
