United Airlines Continues flights in Newark, New Jersey Airport After Floods

Washington: United Airlines on Thursday afternoon continued operations at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey after a disturbance caused by flooding.
From the remains of the Ida storm.
The impact of the storm was still felt in the northeastern United States as Amtrak and other train services were canceled.
United, the largest operator at the Airport Area New York, has canceled more than 200 national flights, according to Flightware, a flight website.
American Airlines rivals have also experienced a delay and cancellation at Newark Airport, while Delta Air Lines said she had seen around 80 cancellations throughout the New York City area.
Floods killed at least 21 people, sweeping the car and soaking the New York subway line after heavy rains.
Floods stopped traffic on several main roads and highways in the northeastern state.
The New York state police said traffic was diverted due to flooding on the highway and the exit.
Some of the great Philadelphia roads are also flooded.
Amtrak said all passenger train services between Washington and Boston were canceled for the rest of Thursday.
Railroad said the Empire service was canceled between Albany, New York, and New York City.
Almost all new jersey transit rail services are still suspended except for the Atlantic city line.
The New Jersey transit bus service continued but the driver was told to “expect a vast delay, cancellation and detour due to severe flooding and several vehicles blocking the highway.” In New York, the Authority of Metropolitan Transportation, which oversees the subway, bus and commuter train, said “services throughout our system are very limited because we work to recover from rainfall and heavy floods last night.”
