BENGALURU: Karnataka Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwatha Narayan on Friday reported the universities and schools shall continue online courses for many even semesters no matter exams becoming pending.
“Even people universities and schools not having completed peculiar semester examinations of instruction applications will continue online courses for much semesters (Second, Fourth, Sixth and Eighth) since there’s a carryover platform in many of the applications.
The rest of the examinations of peculiar semesters of UG apps can be conducted/scheduled when the pandemic scenario comes under control,” Narayan said.
For professional courses such as engineering which have some constraints on carryover to greater semesters, Narayana has proposed that the Vice-Chancellors/Principals to resolve the specifics in consultation with all the Karnataka State Higher Education Council.

On postgraduate applications, he stated entrance processes for its initial semesters were postponed in certain universities because of COVID situation.
However, the Third-semester courses are completed in lots of the schools.
In certain universities, assessments had begun.
“Thus, in regard to PG apps, in universities in which courses of this peculiar semester are finished and just exams are pending, and they will continue online courses for semesters.
The assessments of peculiar semesters could be conducted/scheduled when the COVID-19 situation accelerates.”
The minister noted that in universities in which strange semester courses weren’t finished, the courses must be continued through internet mode.
“When and as things grow, the problem is going to be assessed in consultation with all the Vice-Chancellors along with the Karnataka State Higher Education Council to rework schedules and guidelines for implementation at all colleges and universities,” additional Narayan.
