Patna: Academic Council Patna University (PU) on Saturday decided to introduce a choice-based credit system (CBC) in all regular three-year courses at the Faculty of Arts, Science and Trade from the 2022-23 session.
The decision to introduce CBC was taken at the online meeting of the academic council held under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor (VC) Girish Kumar Chaudhary.
Procedures for acceptance and regulations examination of all 32 undergraduate courses approved by the Board.
It is also decided that under CBC, the entry of students to various courses will be taken on the basis of shared entrance tests.
The test will be held in two parts.
The first will have general awareness and the second will be from the faculty concerned.
VC told this newspaper that to create an atmosphere of PU’s research has gave sanctions a number of two-crore Hospitals for sanctions funds to scholars carrying out minimous research projects.
PU has implemented CBC at the postgraduate stage from the 2018-19 session itself, but cannot apply the same at the undergraduate level because most colleges are not ready for it.
However, several self-financing courses have introduced CBCS from the 2019-20 session.
