Visakhapatnam: Gitam University Deemed-to-Beon conducts the 12th Convocation ceremony on Friday in format – directly and virtually.
Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, Gitam invited only PhD scholars, Rankers, and faculty members for direct convocation ceremonies.
By replacing the ‘colonial’ convocated cloak ‘with’ Indian clothes’, Gitam follows a special dress code.
The man was asked to wear white kurta-pajamas, while women were directed to wear salwar-kameez made of handloom or silk.
Gitam Chancellor Prof.
Virander Singh Chauhan attended the event as a major guest and talked with graduates.
“Young people must play an important role in overcoming current global challenges and the future.
Since the 1960s, humanity has experienced repeated pandemics every 10 years.
But this time, the situation is the worst,” Chauhan said.
3,379 graduates and 84 research scholars were awarded their degrees.
A total of 90 students received a gold medal and a physical certificate rating.
