New Delhi: Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic on Monday said unlike good or bad terrorism and that his country supports India’s position in the fight against terror.
Speaking of Indian-Serbian relations at the Indian World Affairs Council, he said the two countries focused on taking their bilateral bond to a higher level.
His statement came a day after he held a vast deliberation with the Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar who said that as long as their conversation agreed to advance old cooperation between the two countries, especially on the economic side.
Selakovic said he had a very good meeting in India which was focused on improving bilateral relations.
“We (Serbia) also respect and support your position in the war against terrorism where we cannot say one terrorism is good and other terrorism is bad, no, terrorism is the same, it is bad and it is something we must fight against,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Serbia stressed.
He said India and Serbia shared goals and shared values ​​and many of them were people in which countries that were not aligned had gathered.
Asked about the situation of Afghanistan after takeover by the Taliban and his country’s views, Selakovic said his country was among rare European countries that were not present in Afghanistan with troops.
He, however, noted that some negotiations about Afghanistan problems had been carried out in the previous Belgrade.
“Our position is principled that we are devoted to peaceful and diplomatic solutions to problems.
Is it possible to have it here (Afghanistan), I’m not sure,” he said, adding that one of the best conversations he had in Afghanistan.

Noting that there are hundreds of public interests and general goals between Serbs and India, Selakovic says that one aspect that shows how friendly the two countries are manifested in Indian support to Serbia, especially in the political arena.
“In the Republic of India, we have a strong and friendly country,” he said.
Selakovic also expressed his gratitude to the Indian government for assistance given to his country during Covid-19.
He stressed that Serbia preserved his position as a military neutral country and did not want to be a member of NATO.
