Nagpur: Deputy Chancellor (VC) Sr Chaudhari has been accused of acting under pressure in the management of the engineering college after he allegedly seems reluctant to order compliance with panel reports on salary recovery.
One management suspended six teachers who exposed the efforts of panel members to reduce their payment problems.
Chaudhari did not respond to Ti’s call.
About 60 disadvantaged engineering teachers led by the Association of Nagpur University Teachers (Nuta) held protests at the New Administration Building on Tuesday, demanding the revocation of suspension and compliance of reports.
In his report, the five member panels consisting of management board members have recommended that VC Chaudhari issue directives to 10 engineering universities found to hold teacher salaries over the past two years.
The panel also visited 10 universities to verify the complaints received from the teacher about their harassment since the pandemic began, and before that.
Nura Vice President Nitin Kongre – who is a panel member too – and Secretary with Ajiet Jachak met Chaudhari and held a daily discussion about the status of each college.
“VC is under pressure from the Faculty of Engineering.
We sat with him from 11am to 6pm and told him that there were no 10 universities that had not recovered salary.
But he refused to consume the principal or college management, even though it has Strength to do it, “said Kongre.
A few years ago, Kongre and Jachak have ensured that VC SP Kane ordered the release of a detrimental decision on several teachers, using strength, especially in accordance with action.
Kongre added that the Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi College of Engineering suspended six teachers without being caused.
“Bad behavior with the panel has been displayed as the cause of action,” said Kongre.
He further added, “We are panels and six teachers complaining about secretaries to suppress their complaints.
We demand revocation in two days.” The disadvantaged teacher said that they complained about payment cuts in 2018, which must be beaten with the recovery process ongoing.
“The College knows it and suspends us,” they said.
