Untreated waste flowing into the park, say residents

Written by news2in

Gurgaon: Residents of Sare Homes in Sector 92 have expressed concern over the disposal of wastewater that are not treated to open roads and green belts adjacent to their housing society.
Residents blame Rwa for chaos, what they say does not only cause health risks but have also caused severe damage to the environment.
The waste treatment plant (STP) with a capacity of 850 KLD has been installed in the community, but the operating parameters are not monitored regularly, according to residents.
“Untreated water was previously used for horticultural purposes, which radiated foul odors, so when we raised our worries, Rwa began to issue the same outside the community, which was a health hazard,” said Secure Chawla.
Other residents claim that their complaints repeatedly to the authorities concerned only fell on deaf ears.
“Rwa is releasing wastewater that is not treated directly on the road and green belt because the water accumulated on the road creates an unhygienic environment increasingly damaging the road,” other residents said.
“Dirty water that stagnates is also a breeding place for mosquitoes, which pose a serious health risk for residents living in the community.
Despite raising our concerns, Rwa did not pay attention to them to overcome it,” he added.
However, RWA has denied claims as “unfounded”.
Hariom Vishwakarma, Rwa President of Society, said, “Our STP works well at full capacity and we do not violate any rules.
Phase 1 and 2 of our society is a low-rise complex and due to heavy rain on Monday, the water has accumulated that needs to be pumped .
Until now, we use water processed for horticulture in the community and the Greenbelt area.
“When contacted, Sandeep Singh, regional officers, HSPCB, said,” We have received complaints from occupants and asking permission to be examined from headquarters, thus will be taken.”
