Bareilly: Cannot get a seat on a bus or train because of Rakshabandhan Rush, two brothers based in Gurugram and their wives decided to ride a bicycle to reach their original village in the Budaun District.
They managed to cover around 250 km from their trip when their bicycle collided with a vehicle response to the police dial 112 in the Zarifnagar area of Budaun Regency up on Sunday morning.
While one of the brothers died, the other three were seriously injured.
They met the accident while trying to follow the highway bus near Dahgawa Village, police said.
None of them wore a helmet.
Anupam Kumar (29), a resident of Khitora Budaun Village, died while his wife Anshu, Brother Harendra Kumar and Adik-in-law Anita was injured.
The condition of the two women was critical and they had been referred to a higher facility in Bareilly.
Harendra told the police that his brother was driving and might lose control when he was tired.
Sudhakar Pandey, Sho of Zarifnagar Police Station, told Tii, “The initial investigation showed that it was a bicycle driver’s fault.
There are four people on a bicycle along with luggage, making a risky trip.
The family hasn’t filed a complaint so far.”
