Lucknow: The day before his birthday, a 12-year-old boy was allowed to be paralyzed after being shot by a 10-year-old rifle of a neighbor at Hardoi on July 21.
A FIR is filed in this connection week.
The boy rushed to Apollo Hospital in Lucknow where he was operated and wore a ventilator for four days.
The boy suffered paralysis on the left side of his body and was fully ridden by the bed.
“The doctor could not make a clear prediction about his recovery.
The bullet hit his head which not only made him paralyzed but also influenced his mental stability,” said Abhay Dwivedi, the father of the victim.
He said he filed FIR to the boy accused after meeting a senior police officer on Sunday.
Dwivedi has also written to the Uttar Pradesh State Commission for the protection of children’s rights (UPSCPCR) in this relationship.
In Fir, Dwivedi said his son played on the terrace on July 21 when his 10-year-old neighbor’s son came on the terrace of his house.
“A fight occurred between the two children after that the 10-year-old boy picked up father’s rifle and shot my son,” he said.
“I rushed to the terrace and saw my son lying in a pool of blood.
I immediately took him to the district hospital from where the doctor referred him to the Apollo Hospital in Lucknow,” he added.
The boy was operated but his left side was left paralyzed because of his impact.
Police supervisor, Hardoi, Ajay Kumar said a FIR has been put on a minor because it causes painful sadness for someone by taking negligence, and negligent acts that endanger people’s lives.
“My child is a smart student and has participated in the Competition of Robotics in Noida recently.
Along with technical capabilities, he also has soft and creative skills.
He represents his school in filmmaking competition,” he said.
