Lucknow: About 15,000 central armed paramilitary forces will be deployed at Uttar Pradesh from January 20 and additional contingent 10,000 personnel from state police will be mobilized during the phase voting from next month.
Also, the police risen identified 29,138 voting stations as critical elections, 95 sensitive constituencies and 33 seats marked ‘sensitive expenses’, where additional police teams will be locked up to curb corrupt practices.
Director General of Police, law and additional orders, Prashant Kumar, said special measures had been taken to conduct elections in the Chandauli district affected by Naxal, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra.
And to stop the criminals who were imprisoned from influencing polls, 271 additional jammer and 2,676 CCTV had been installed in prison.
At least 275 imprisoned criminals that can affect the poll under the vigil.
“We have also identified as many as 16,237 troublemakers against whom preventive measures have been taken by each police station,” the officer said.
Describing police preparedness, the officer said, for special settings was first made in 14 assembly constituencies sharing boundaries with Nepal.
And this includes the installation of CCTV cameras at the exit point, deploying additional forces and 107 points barricades.
