Lucknow: There was a decrease in the incidence of crime against women and children in the state in 2020.
Statistics from the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) for 2020 shows that the crime chart registered around 20% compared to the appropriate number of 2019 in terms of crime against children in underage and 18% on them against women.
In 2019, 18,304 cases of crime against women were reported.
This fell to 14.454 in 2020.
Likewise, the case of crime against children fell from 18,943 in 2019 to 15,271 by 2020.
The maximum reduction witnessed in crimes related to domestic violence (cruelty by women and relatives) against women.
According to NCRB records, 18,304 cases of domestic violence were reported in 2019 which fell to 14,454 in 2020.
Other crimes where a large decrease witnessed was kidnapping or kidnapping.
With 11,646 cases in 2019, the fall caused 9,109 in 2020.
Likewise, the case of acid attacks, 42 of 2019, fell to 21 at 2020.
From 7,797 in 2019, kidnapping cases and kidnapping children fell to 5,513 in 2020 .
other crimes such as murder saw a decrease of 33 cases in 2019 to 24 in 2020.
the ADG Law and booking Prashant Kumar said that the state government has taken note of crimes against women and children is very serious.
“Shakti’s mission has been launched to handle crimes against women and create awareness,” he said.
Their results will be reflected in the coming years, he said.
