Azamgarh: Three small sisters were burned to death when the LPG cylinder caught fire in their homes in a village in the Aahraula area in Azamgarh, police said on Monday.
The cylinder leaked on Sunday night when spread (11), Shivansi (6) and Shrejal (4) were in the kitchen of their home in Imamgarh village while their mother had stepped out to get water, he added.
When the cylinder burned, the nurse was stuck in the room and lifted the alarm, police said.
Lawned by their crying for assistance, the villagers gathered in place and helped control the fire, after the girls rushed to the hospital, where it was spread and the Shivansi was declared dead, police official said.
Shrejal died during late night treatment, they said, adding that the investigation was underway in this matter.
