Lucknow: Continuing the ‘zero tolerance’ policy on crime and criminals, the Uttar Pradesh police have identified at least 800 customary violators at the district level which registered as many as 8,000 cases against them since January this year.
A senior official in the House Department said three feared criminals had also been killed in a meeting with the police in the past year.
“The property of 12 criminals has been installed and the strict provisions of the National Security Law and Gangster Law have been summoned to 25 and 567 people accused of,” he said.
Other officers said because of the sustainable efforts of the chairman of the Yogi Adityanath Minister, UP appeared successfully not only limiting crime but also in instilling the sense of security among people.
The police have so far have illegal assets and villain properties, worth around Rs 2.5 billion, since 2017 March.
ADG, law and orders, Prashant Kumar said in other steps to prevent crime, a historical sheet of 382 criminals involved in violations opened where 274 were accused of being arrested and sent to prison.
“To improve law and order, fast and tight actions are also taken through micro planning to instill fear among criminals in every corner of the country,” he said.
“To control habit criminals, the police have taken action under 233 criminals under the Law Goonda, while 11 weapons licenses were canceled in the past year,” the officer said.
