AGRA: Acid attack lands in Agra are taking out a food supply driveway for Covid patients along with the destitute people impacted by the outbreak.
The driveway, together endorsed by Chhanv Foundation and Sheroes Hangout Café operate by acid assault survivors, has been conducted under the’Smile Goal Hai’ campaign that aims to draw smiles on people’s faces at such difficult times.
Ashish Shukla, co-founder of all Sheroes Hangout Café told PTI that the purpose behind the initiative was to offer meals to Covid sufferers and financially deprived individuals.
“We’ve started distributing food packs and’thali’ because May 17 into Covid patients in District Hospital at Agra and also to the people residing on footpaths or slums,” he further added.
We used to disperse about 40-50’thalis’ into Covid sufferers and vaccination staff in the District Hospital’s isolation ward although today the amount of sufferers is quite less so we’re committing about 20’thalis’ there, Shukla said.
We’ve also been providing 70-80 food boxes comprising sabzi, daal-chawal, roti, raita and salad,” he also added.
“The kitchen team of this Sheroes café prepares food using the utmost maintenance of hygiene.
And also to make sure we utilize hand sanitiser, face mask, hand glasses and securely produce food packs to a daily basis,” Shukla said.
Sharing her expertise, Roopa, that works in the cafe, stated that on Wednesday food packs were distributed to individuals in the District Hospital and kids who reside on footpaths around MG Road.
“This job leaves my staff happy as we can bring a grin to the faces of these destitute people in this outbreak,” Roopa, an acid assault survivor, explained.
The co-founder farther explained,”We shall continue this food push article Covid also, because we understand how hard it is for displaced individuals to live without meals.
We’ll continue delivering food containers according to our capacities.” Spokesperson in the Sheroes cafe, Ajay Tomar, that also assists in packaging food boxes and bringing them to individuals, stated people are able to combine their initiative.
Individuals are able to encourage us to keep this food push by giving ration along with other cooking essentials,” he added.
