MEERUT: Rajat Kumar, 20, unfortunate, abused, held at the knife point and has a beard shaved by a group of Thakur men in Saharanpur Village.
The top caste man said that the Rajat, a Dalit, should not be “brave” for beard sports, “pride of Thakurs”.
It took five days to gather courage and filed a complaint, said his family.
After the video incident, which was decided by the Thakur men, became viral, the police ordered six men and barber who shaved the beard in the riots, causing wounds, criminal intimidation and under SC / ST section.
The seven men have not been detained.
“There is no arrest that has been done but we track them involved,” said Saharanpur SSP Shivipi Chanappa.
Around 7 am on Sunday, when the Rajat passed the road in his village, Shimlana, that Neeraj Rana, Satayam Rana, Mokam Rana, Ripantu Rana, Monty Rana and Sandeep Rana surrounded him.

On the basis of his complaint, FIR was registered at the Badgaon police station on Thursday night.

The Saharanpur Unit of the Bhim Army of President Rohit Raj added, “There are many villages in Saharanpur dominated by the top caste.
