Agra: A 9-year-old boy was allegedly strangled by his drunk father at his home in Alawalpur Village Madaya Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday night after he failed to find the last cellphone.
The police registered fir and arrested the man on Wednesday on charges of guilty murders who did not number murder.
The police said that Lakhan Singh, grandfather of the victim, filed a complaint of the police against his son Mukesh Batham on Wednesday accused him of killing Mithun in front of the Grand Palak daughter (4) on Tuesday night.
According to police complaints, Batham returned home around 7pm on Tuesday was drunk.
He forgot where he kept his cellphone and he asked his son about it.
But he failed to find it, Batham was angry and allegedly strangled him to death.
Brutal murder was also witnessed by the sister of a palak victim (4), who began to cry.
After hearing his crying, his grandparents reached there but Mithun had died at that time and Batham escaped from home.
Singh told the police that Batham was an alcoholic and because of his habit, his wife Vijay Kumari left the house and moved to Punjab with four of their six children eight months ago.
Mithun and Palak have lived with their father.
Station House Officer Kishni, Dharmendra Kumar, said that FIR was registered under Section 304 (guilty murder did not amount to murder) IPC and the defendant had been arrested.
The body has been sent for post mortem and further investigation.
