Lucknow: The Underconstruction Chowk Flyover will be ready at the end of July.
Officials of Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation (UPSBC) provided this information to the Minister of Defense and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh during the ongoing road infrastructure project inspection in the city on Sunday.
2.5km-long double lane Legaran, built at a cost of Rs 110 Crore, will connect phool bathing with Haidanj Pisecection.
This will facilitate the movement of more than 50,000 Rajajipuram commuters, Chowk, Aishbagh and neighboring areas every day.
After operations, tourists can travel to Bada Imambara through Victoria Street and KgMu in 10 minutes.
Stone Foundation for Chowk Flyover was placed by Rajnath Singh in September 2018.
Singh also checked the progress of the Outer Road Undercontruction ring road.
He checked a long stretch of 12 km from Bakshi Ka Talab to Gomtinagar.
This section is part of the 30kmlong outer ring road that will connect Sitapur Road with Hardoi Road and further to Mohan Road via Agra-Lucknow Expressway.
20km-stretch between Sitapur Road and Hardoi Road will react in February 2022, Singh is told.
Considering heavy traffic movements in the city, Rajnath Singh has sanctioned nine flyovers, where Basmandi-Lalkuan, Rajajipuram, Kukrail and Tedipulia projects have become operational.
Soon the city will have more flyovers for fast connectivity between College Engineering and IIM-Lucknow turn to Bithauli.
Others will be in Khurammnagar.
The two kites will be 2 km long.
