Up: Ganga E-Way gets environmental permits

Lucknow: The Ganges Expressway project is given an environmental permit on Saturday, paving the way for the development of what is said to be the longest toll road in this country.
A government spokesman said that the state-level environmental impact authorities issued an environmental permit for the Ganga 594-Km express project, which was started by the tender process.
The estimated project costs are Rs 36,230 Crore.
Toll roads will be built above PPP and tender modes have been invited to design, build, finance, operate, and transfers.
The toll road will start in the village of Bijauli in Meerut Regency from Jalan Raya Meerut-Bulandshahr and concluded at Bypass Prayagraj near Joodapur Dandu Village in the Prayagraj District.
It will include 12 districts including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagarh.
“This will be the six lane toll road, it can be expanded to eight lines.
Working on land acquisition for this project and so far we have obtained around 94% of land.
It is estimated that around 12,000 will get temporary work during the construction of the project while 100 others will get Work during the construction of the toll plaza on this stretch, “said a government spokesman.
