Bareilly: A six-year-old girl died after the roof of her straw hut gave up due to heavy rainfall in the Mituli area above Kheri Regency on Tuesday night while four people were injured after their homes fainted in Eekri Village under the jurisdiction of the Alaperur Police Station in Budaun Regency.
The girl’s family member repaired the roof after the rain began to drip into the hut when the roof collapsed, burying the girl left in the village of Sadingpur under the jurisdiction of the Maigalganj police station.
The injured girl rushed to the public health center, where she died during treatment.
Sandeep Rathore, a worker, used to live in a straw hut with his wife and only Divyanshi girls.
Sandeep said that he had no money to get a repaired cottage before the rainy season when he experienced a rough phase due to lack of work because of the Covid-19 outbreak.
“Poverty claims my daughter’s life,” said the grieving father.
Lekhpal Jeevanlal, meanwhile, completed the home survey and submit a report to the Mitvijay Singh Mitvijay Singh Mitviary Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
“The family lives below the poverty line.
We will ensure compensation to families and houses under the government scheme,” Singh Toi said.
Meanwhile, the injured in Budaun District was identified as Sompal, his wife Shakuntala, Sister Vineeta and Mother Suheela Devi.
All of them were treated at the district hospital, where the conditions were stated.
In a separate incident, a 27-year-old woman sustained a critical injury after she was buried under the debris of the house which collapsed because the rain was unceasing in the Bareilly district on Wednesday morning.
This incident was reported from Pandri Village under the boundaries of the Sheeshgarh police station.
The woman was accepted at the District Hospital, where her condition was declared critical.
