LUCKNOW: The state government on Sunday announced lifting of the partial Covid curfew from four more districts including PM Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency of Varanasi, besides GB nagar, Ghaziabad and Muzzaffarnagar from Monday.
The decision was taken by the high level meeting presided over by CM Yogi Adityanath after the number of active cases in the four districts came below 600.
Coronavirus: Live updatesWith this, 71 out of 75 districts will see the lifting of Corona curfew to allow economic activities between 7am and 7pm.
The night and weekend curfew, from Friday evening till Monday morning, will continue to persist.
The curfew will continue in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Saharanpur and Meerut and any further decision on lifting the curfew from these districts would be taken on Tuesday, said additional chief secretary, information, Navneet Sehgal.
The CM also pitched for increasing the number of vaccinations from the proposed 1 crore in June to 3 crore in July.
For this, he said, an additional 3 lakh vaccinators may be roped in, besides training students of nursing and searching other options.
