Lucknow: Sleuggells from the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh (UPSTF) looked down a man who posed as IPS from Maharashtra cadres and delayed Jewelry Rs 3.17 Crore.
The defendant was identified as Rajiv Singh from Aliganj, who was arrested from his residence.
The police also recovered 5.73 kg of gold from his ownership worth Rs 3 Crore.
Vishal Singh, ASP, STF, who led the probe, said that Rajiv Singh was used to keep a card with the Maharashtra police symbol with a branch of DCP crime written on it and used to refer to IPS from Batch 2014.
“He came into contact with the leading city jewelry and buying jewelry Worth Rs 3.19 Crore on July 13, and provide post-date checks, “ASP said.
Then, the defendant asked not to get a check worn and further delayed payment.
“When the owner objected, he threatened him with the terrible consequences that claimed himself as IPS,” ASP Singh said.
The officer also said that Rajiv Singh was the son of a retired police inspector and MA political science that shared who wanted to become IPS.
