Lucknow: Shia Cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawad on Friday warns the state and administrative government that unreasonable restrictions imposed on Muharram might lead to protests.
Overcoming online sermons on the third day of Muharram, the scholar said there were no procession taken and all majlics (religious meetings) were held with Covid guidelines in place.
“We have received photographs of other community religious places, where there are no covid guidelines that are obeyed or there are no restrictions enforced,” said Jawad.
“We are not allowed to take a black flag on Jalan Azadari (Husainabad), with Covid as a reason.
Are all limited restrictions on the followers of Imam Husain,” he replied.
