Kanpur: A Muslim man was attacked in public and allegedly asked for the song “Jai Shri Ram” even when his little daughter tried to save him, PTI quoted the police like on Thursday.
One minute video from the incident appeared on social media on Wednesday.
The 45-year-old man looked attacked by several men, who asked him to shout “Jai Shri Ram”.
The victim’s daughter was seen trying to save her father, cry and ask the attacker not to beat him.
Then, some police took the man to their jeep.
The recording also showed the man who was hit during the police custody.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Raveena Tyagi said the problem appeared ahead in the Kacchi Basti area near Gopal Crossing Ram in the Barra Kanpur area on Wednesday.
“In the victim’s complaint, we have submitted pine and legal acts ongoing,” he said.
However, the police did not name the organization involved in the Act.
The victim, a e-rickshaw driver, said around 3pm, several people began to abuse and attack him.
They threatened to kill his family.
He said he was saved by the police.
The man is a relative of Muslim families, who are involved in disputes with their Hindu neighbors in the Kanpur region.
The police statement said in July, the two families submitted cases with each other at the local police station.
