GREATER NOIDA: With over 60 high rises in Greater Noida west facing lack of proper health facilities in the area, the Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA) has demanded a government multi-speciality hospital in Greater Noida west from GB Nagar district magistrate Suhas LY.
The residents’ body maintain that the Bisrakh community health centre (CHC) and primary health centre (PHC) in the area is not equipped with x-ray, ultrasound or basic caesarean delivery facilities.
“Visa vis the population rise in Noida and Greater Noida in the last 8-10 years, the government health facilities in the district have remained minimal.
As a result residents of nearly 60-70 high rises living in Greater Noida west do not have government health facilities within their vicinity.
While the district hospital sector 30 is about 14 kms, the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in Greater Noida is at a distance of about 32 kms.
The only government health facility in the region is the Bisrakh CHC and PHC at a distance of about 7 kms,” said Abhishek Kumar president NEFOWA.
However, Kumar adds that the Bisrakh CHC and PHC is not equipped with x-ray, ultrasound or any other specialised services as well as doctors of different streams and specialties.
“Currently the population in Greater Noida west is about 4 lakhs.
This is expected to double in the coming 3-4 years as more people will take possession of their flats in the area.
And given such a high population area, there is a need of a government multi-speciality hospital in the region as we have to resort to private health facilitates which are not affordable for all residents,” said Kumar who has written to GB Nagar district magistrate demanding the same especially since the administration is planning to ramp up government health facilities with six new CHCs for the district for which a proposal will be sent to the state government.
“We have requested the DM for a sanction of a government multi-specialty hospital in Greater Noida west along with the lines of proposed six CHCs.
This will bring relief to lakhs of people,” said Kumar.
