Lucknow: In what can be one of the largest selection sops, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd is compiling a proposal for a one-time (OTS) completion scheme for consumers in rural and urban areas.
If everything goes according to plan, this scheme will be launched at the end of September.
This scheme also tends to include farmers who have tubewells in the 5 KVA load category.
The proposal is being compiled on the direction of the chairman of Yogi Adityanath, who feel that consumers must be given neglect with additional costs late because of the many financial barriers faced during the coronavirus pandemic.
This scheme is likely to provide assistance to middle-class consumers, both urban and rural, which has a load connection of less than 5kva.
The OT scheme will only be available through the online process to avoid differences in the future.
According to sources that are highly placed in the electricity department, the scheme will be open to the public for 15 days and only consumers who make themselves registered online by paying the minimum amount between RS 1,000 and RS 2,000 will be eligible for the scheme.
Consumers have 1-2 kva containing connections may have to pay Rs 1,000 as a registration fee while those who have 5 kva loading may have to pay Rs 2,000.
Costs will be adjusted after the completion is made, the source said.
The six-month installment that will be repaired under the scheme will not be less than Rs 1,000.
Those who utilize the scheme will be given options to pay their contributions with installments no more than six months.
The source in the department told TII that the financial implications that would be borne by the electricity department were still calculated.
The source said the OTS scheme will also apply to those who have filed litigation in court to the department.
Such consumers must submit a written statement that they will withdraw the case as soon as their complaints are handled under the scheme with mutual understanding.
Even these consumers must register online.
For registration under the scheme, SDO and executive engineers will be directed to hold camps, especially in rural areas where registration will be available in CSC centers.
The proposal will have provisions to collect additional fees on defraugter which fail to deposit contributions in the specified six months.
Consumers have demanded the neglect of additional costs on the delay in paying the electricity bill quoting a pandemic coronavirus.
While business activities stop for many people, others lose their jobs or have to work without paying for months.
According to political analysts, neglecting will certainly work as a soup because the selection is only a few months away.
They said this scheme would also help BJP to fight promises that could be done by opposition parties to voters.
As a AAM AADMI Party (AAP), who has provided assistance to people in Delhi on the electrical front, also in a commotion, such relief will not come at a better time, they added.
