Lucknow: Prison Prisoners at Uttar Pradesh met with their family members after a gap almost one and a half years when the meeting was prohibited because the second pandemic wave was deadly.
The entry of visitors has been suspended on March 24, 2020 because Covid-19 and is not revived until now.
The Director General, Prison, Anand Kumar said, “All visitors need to produce a negative Covid report from the RT-PCR test conducted within 72 hours.
The 30-minute deadline has been set for a meeting.” Since August 16, as many as 300 visitors meet their nesting in a different prison.
A prison official said the visitors who did not carry RT-PCR test reports were not allowed to meet inmates but were allowed to talk to them on landline.
All Covid-19 protocol was being followed in prison, said the official senior department official.
“We have made sure all the right settings are made for visitors and they use a mask besides undergoing thermal scanning.
Visitor barracks are being disanitized after a meeting,” he added.
According to the instructions of the prison department, only two visitors can fulfill inmates at a time while the visit hours until 2 pm on weekdays.
A prisoner will only be permitted a visit a week.
So far, as many as 92,000 inmates have been vaccinated, where 20,000 have been given both doses.
