Varanasi: A police sub-inspector Mahesh Singh attached to the police line after being excluded from the Shahganj police station after he allegedly destroyed several Tazias after robbing a tazia maker in the Bhadikhas area in Jaunpur District on Friday night.
Suspecting that the police have damaged many of the Tazias and merge of their makers, hundreds of the typical Shiites of Bhadi Sect and nearby areas held protests all night at the Shahganj police station and did Muharram Mouthing there until Saturday morning.

Sanjay Kumar, said that remembering the ban on carrying out the TAZIA procession during Muharram this year, the Muslim community was asked during a meeting of peace committee in each police station not to make Tazias.
Wearing input that some tazia makers in the area falling under the boundaries of the Shahganj police station made Tazias, the police team had gone to their place on Friday night and asked them to avoid it, ASP said.
Upset on it, people from the community began leveling allegations that the police damaged Tazias, ASP added.
Locals alleged that a sub-inspector with several police stormed the places of Khan Subban and damaged many Tazias and then reached the House of Inejar Khan, where the police behave badly with him and locked Tazias in a room.
Within minutes, a large number of people from Saraiya, Paschim Kaudaia, Nai Abadi and the Badagaon area gathered at the Shahganj police station and held a massive demonstration.
Community women also joined protests.
Feeling the gravity of this problem, HR Rajesh Verma and Co Ankit Kumar also reached the place and tried to bring the situation under control.
However, the protesters were rigid at their request to suspend the police and the police reached the Tazia maker.
After prolonged talks with community leaders, the situation can be controlled.
