Prayagraj: After maintaining a trend in the last 24 hours, both the Ganges and Yamuna river crossed the danger level of 84.73 meters in the city on Monday morning.
With water levels still rising on the river and flooding fresh areas, district administration has begun to evacuate people affected and move them to safer places and in flood assistance camps.
The water level in River Ganga (as recorded at 8 am) at Phaphamau was 85.08 meters when Chhatnag, it was 84.29 meters.
Likewise, the water level in the Yamuna River in Nini was recorded at 84.90 meters.
The water level in the river and Yamuna increased at a speed of about 6cm every two hours.
Because water that rose, the water level in the three river record points (as recorded at 4pm) increased to 85.27 meters in Phohamau and 84.49 meters in Chhatnag.
Yamuna water level is recorded at 85.13-meters.
The water level, as recorded by the Department of Irrigation, is still increasing with a 4cm level in Phohamau, 3cm in Chhatnag and 6cm in Naini (Yamuna).
With increasing volume of water in the river, flood water has entered the affected area.

Similarly, with increased water levels in Yamuna, flood water has reached the new Yamuna banks in Balughat, Gaus Nagar, JK Ashiyana, the Karelabagh section and the area located near the edge of Yamuna.
Because many areas based on floods, flood assistance camps have been established by the government, which provides facilities to flood-affected people.
Meanwhile, district administration and the National Disaster Aid Force (NDRF) helps locals to move to safer places and maintain strict vigilance at the flood level.
“We keep a watch close on the surface of the water and because it increases in the upstream Yamuna, the trend will continue in the doAgraj and further downstream towards Varanasi,” said Engineer Executive Irrigation Department Brijesh Kumar Verma to the Toi on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Red Eagle division forces provided assistance to regions in 12 villages in the Jalaun district affected by Yamuna flood, around 350 km from Prayagraj.
The villages have been cut off because of the water level rise.
Between August 7 and Monday, a total of 135 villagers, including 20 children were evacuated by troops.
Ransum materials and assistance are also provided by the Army team.
On August 7, a pregnant woman Sadhna Devi was saved by the Army’s flood relief team in coordination close to civil administration.
During the evacuation, the woman developed labor pain and due to efforts with the flood relief team of the Red Eagle Division division, she shifted safely to the nearest hospital.
The woman who was evacuated gave birth to a baby girl the next day, with children and mothers in a healthy condition, told the Defense Public Relations officer.
The efforts of the flood relief team have been valued by local residents and civil administration.
The army flood relief team has provided support and assistance that is needed to the villagers of the district of Jalaun and helps reduce the difficulties of the locals for the most part.
