The number of candidates that appear for the IELTS exam in India to learn or migrate to English-speaking countries has increased by 15 percent since the pre-pandemic years, according to official figures.
The International English testing system (IELTS) is a global English proficiency test for non-original English speakers.
Exam is trusted by more than 10,000 organizations around the world as an indicator of English proficiency.
Statistics have been distributed by IDP Education Limited, which has IELTS in India.
“Growth in the current year IELTS number versus the normal year of pre-pandemic is in the range of 10-15 percent,” said Piyush Kumar, regional director (South Asia and Mauritius), IDP education.
