Kanpur: Two family members, including a five-year-old child, died in the Farrukhabad district on Saturday night while the other three fell ill after consuming cabinet curry.
The incident occurred in Jasupur Gadhiya Village in the Rajepur police station area.
In accordance with detail, the wife of Irshad’s 50-year-old Nanhi (45) has cooked cabinet curry consumed by them, besides their daughter Majida (18), Rajida (10) and the son of Majid (5) and Asif (5).
Their health worsens in a few hours after dinner.
While Irshad and his son Asif died after being treated at Brahmadutt Dwivedi Hospital, Nanhi, Majid and Rajida were said to be critical and still undergoing treatment.
A police team visited Irshad’s house and checked the place where food was prepared.
The police confiscated cabinet curry and sent it for forensic examination.
Police have also sent corpses to the district hospital for postmortem, the report awaited.
It was doubtful that Irshad and his small son died of food poisoning.
The police, however, stated that nothing could be said to post postmortem reports and forensic reports from cauliflower curry.
Police officials say that all angles are likely to be investigated in detail.
The whole village was surprised after the incident.
Dr.
Haridutt Dwivedi from Dwivedi Brahmadutt Hospital expressed doubts that pesticides might be sprayed on cauliflower in the field the day before and farmers may have sold them on the market the next day.
Maybe, cauliflower is not washed properly, as a result the insecticide effect remains in it.
“The incident occurred apparently because of the effects of pesticides in vegetables,” he added.
