Mahoba: A 30-year-old woman who was allegedly burned by the parents of a man ordered in a case of persecution submitted by the victim, died during hospital treatment, police said on Tuesday.
The woman, who was burned on Sunday at Thatewara Viillage in the Kulpahad area, died at Jhansi Medical College on Monday, Station House Officer (Sho) Kulpahad Mahendra Pratap Singh Said.
Angry at the registration of the case of their son, the defendant’s parents poured kerosene for the woman and made her hate it, police said.
The woman, in a statement to a judge on Sunday, said on Saturday that he had registered a case against his neighbor Vipin Yadav (31) to beat and persecuted his body.
The defendant was then detained.
“Angry at the registration of this case, the parents of the defendant poured kerosene on it and made him hate him,” he accused his statement.
Yadav and his mother were arrested and sent to prison on Monday, said Sho, added that his father fled and looked for him.
