Upa, nda nixd recommendation 3 panels for memo or review AFSPA

Guwahati: In the last 17 years, the three committees established by the Government of the UPA have recommended locking or reviewing the Armed Forces (Special Force) Law, 1958.
Ironically, the same government rejected the recommendations of the two temporary panels of the Government NDA in 2015 said not on Recommendations to revoke the law by the third panel.
AFSPA was applied at that time Assam and Manipur who were not divided in 1958 to load Naga’s guerrillas (Nagaland was the Bukit Regency in Assam later) and in 1972 with amendments, the law was expanded to all countries after their creation.
Actions apply throughout Nagaland and Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Extension of the provisions of actions every six months is notified by the center in Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh while it is carried out by each state government in Assam and Manipur.
Actions have been removed from Tripura, Meghalaya and Mizoram.
Among other things, there are many protests by various student bodies, civil society and other organizations that demand law, which still continues.
One of the most striking protests by an individual is “Iron Lady” Manipur, Iron Sharmila’s Hunger Strike for 16 years long from 2001 which did not produce fruit.
