New Delhi: Advocate and ex-spokesman Delhi BJP Ashwini Upadhyay has a relationship with one of the five defendants who was arrested for allegedly raising communal slogans in Mantar here during the recent protests, Delhi police claimed on Monday.
“Preet, one of the accused, and upadhyay connected to each other.
Upadhyay has mentioned the name Preet in the application form submitted to the police before arranging the event,” said a Senior Delhi Police official who was claimed.
The police previously arrested six people, including Upadhyay, in connection with this case.
The Delhi court on Wednesday has guaranteed upadhyay, which has denied involvement in the alleged incident of anti-Muslim sloganeering.

Hundreds of people have attended protests held by ‘Bharat Jodo aandolan’ at Jantar Mantar on August 8.
The police have arrested six people, including Upadhyay, after firing registered at the Place Connaught police station with the incident.
Five other defendants have been identified as Preeth Singh, Deepak Singh, Deepak Kumar, Vinod Sharma and Vinit Bajpai.
Upadhyay previously said, “I have submitted a complaint to the Delhi police to check the video that became viral.
If the video is authentic, the tight action must be made to the people involved in it.” I don’t know who they are.
