Coimbatore: Spartan individuals in Anaikatti have appealed to the district government as well as the health area to convert the community main health center (PHC) to a 24-hour health facility with beds, oxygen, 108 ambulances, nurses and doctors.
While that there are 13,000 tribal folks living in and about Anaikatti along with 11,000 tribals in hills and woods, a physician visits the center just between 10am and 1pm, the request stated.
“The center has five quarters and beds for physicians and nurses to remain at nighttime,” explained Jeyamuruganveli, senior associate of this South Indian Tribal Welfare Association.
“It lacks infrastructure to deal with pregnant girls and Covid-19 individuals.
The closest major hospital will be Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, that is 35km away.
”“Physicians and nurses must be current there round-the-clock.
We need oxygen link and amenities for both beds and ventilator.
In addition, we need 108 ambulances, that have been changed to Pollachi and substituted using a car ambulance,” explained Jeyamuruganveli.
Bethany Hospital, which was allegedly closed after a physician was diagnosed using Covid-19, ought to be reopened, ” the request stated.
“Many individuals in Mettupalayam, Thondamuthur and Sulur was able to go to the hospital.
It needs to be reopened with a different physician.
