The Indian computer emergency response team (Cert-In) in a high severity security advisor warned that users must update the latest Google Chrome version because some vulnerabilities have been reported on Google Chrome which can be exploited by remote striker for system targeted compromises.
“This vulnerability is on Google Chrome because buffer buffer overflow errors in bookmarks; Use after free errors in the API file system, UI browser or UI page info; Beyond the limit, write an error in the tab group; beyond the limit, read the error in the tab tab , UI security is wrong in navigation for Windows, Mac and Linux, “said Cert-in in his advisor.
Explaining how hacking can be done, Cert-in said, “A remote striker can exploit this vulnerability by implementing specially made documents.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can allow long-distance attackers to compromise the targeted system.” Recently, Certificate of Apple iPhone and iPad users warned to immediately update their device to iOS 14.7.1 and iPados 14.7.1.
The agency, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, said that iOS and iPado have an active vulnerability that is “being exploited”.
Cert-in issued a ‘high’ severity warning around the vulnerability of newly discovered memory corruption.
The affected device is the iPhone 6S and the newer, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and newer, the 5th generation iPad and newer, iPad mini 4 and then and iPod Touch (7th generation) .
