New Delhi: The loss of documents and damaging evidence in sensitive cases such as the 1997 Uphaar API tragedy cannot be taken lightly, Delhi’s police told the court on Friday.
This case was related to disruption with the evidence of the main case in which the Baron Real Estate Sushil and Gopal Ansal were punished and sentenced to two years in prison by the Supreme Court.
However, the peak court released it in a period that had experienced prison with the condition that they paid Rs 30 Crore well to be used to build a trauma center in the capital.
Ansal brothers along with the court staff of Dinesh Chand Sharma, and other individuals – P P Batra, Har Swaroop Panwar, Anoop Singh and Dharamvir Malhotra – ordered in this case.
Panwar and Malhotra died during the trial.
“The Fire Cinema TRAGEDI UPHAAR is the most sensitive city case at that time.
The loss of documents and disturbances with evidence in such cases cannot be taken lightly,” the prosecution submitted before the Head of Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma.
It is said that it triggers some of the most important documents and materials from very important files by people accused according to the well-planned conspiracy to cover evil.
The fire broke out in the Uphaar cinema during the Hindi movie screening ” border ” on June 13, 1997 claimed 59 lives.
The case was submitted towards the Delhi High Court while hearing the petition by the Association of the Uphaar (AVUT) Tragedy Chairson Neelam Krishnameorthy.
The defendant was charged with a violation below, 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 109 (abetment), 201 (causing loss of violations) and 409 (criminal violations of trust) IPC.
