NEW DELHI: Sushil Ansal, detained at the 1997 Uphaar theater fire that killed 59 people, performed with a fraud authorities by hiding information regarding criminal cases pending against him while obtaining his passport Delhi Police has informed a court at a charge sheet filed against him.
In its 8-page control sheet filed prior to primary metropolitan magistrate Pankaj Sharma, authorities asserted that Ansal tricked the government jurisdiction on oath he hasn’t yet been convicted in any criminal proceeding from any court.
Police maintained that about the passport issued in 2013 on Ansal to a’Tatkaal’ program,”it was discovered that an affidavit beneath the Tatkaal scheme demanded specific deposition from the offender to the effect that there were not any criminal proceedings pending against the offender in any court of law or that she/ he hasn’t yet been convicted by any court of law for any criminal offence before.” “Back in 2013this affidavit was filed with an accused Sushil Ansal with his program and he’s on oath tricked the Government Authority (RPO) he hasn’t yet been convicted in any criminal proceeding with any Court,” explained the complaint sheet, registered in February this season but has begun to public understanding just today.
The matter was adjourned for January 31, 2022.
The situation has been lodged about the management of the Delhi High Court while hearing a request by Association of Victims of Uphaar Tragedy (AVUT) chairperson Neelam Krishnamoorthy alleging that Ansal hidden or gave false information to the government for renewal of his prison.
A fire in the Uphaar cinema throughout the screening of Hindi movie’Border’ on June 13, 1997 had claimed 59 lives.
