Gurgaon: A 18-year-old young man from Sakatpur Village allegedly attacked with an iron rod and stick on Friday after a dispute over Instagram posts.
Youth, Mohit, allegedly posted a video that showed a fight between two boys in his village.
One of the young men is suspected of asking Mohit to remove the post, which leads to the argument.
On Friday morning, Mohit and his friends Gulfam and Tanwar headed up the hill to take a walk.
Mohit received a call from Sitesh, who asked him to remove the post.
After a few minutes, Sitesh, Nikhil and 10-15 other young men grabbed near the hill on the bicycle and allegedly attacking Mohit with sticks and stems.
His friends were controlled.
Sitesh, police said, hit Mohit’s head with an iron rod while Nikhil attacked him with sharp objects in hand.
They escaped from the place, but threatened to kill Mohit next time.
“Nikhil put a gun in my head and threatened to kill me later,” Mohit said from the hospital bed.
Mohit was originally taken to a civil hospital, but his family shifted him to private facilities later.
After the police were told, a registered case below Section 148 (riots), 149 (riots with weapons), 323 (causing injury), 506 (criminal intimidation) from the IPC and relevant provisions from the Mustafa Arsa, who is running a fabrication store at Badshapur, said his son had received WhatsApp videos showing the sitesh and nikhil fighting with each other.
Mohit uploaded videos on Instagram.
“But he also removed his post when some of his friends raised objections.
Even so, he was attacked by several young men from the village,” he added.
Police spokesman Subhash Benken said they were conducting a search to arrest the defendant.
“The police tried to identify and trace the defendant,” he added.
