Chennai: The Department of Tamil Nadu School Education on Monday relaurs the upper age limit for the recruitment of teachers with five years considering the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the notification it was issued on September 9 for the Postgraduate Teacher Recruitment, the Teacher Recruitment Body (TRB) announced the upper age limit for the general category as 40 years and for the category that was reserved as 45 years.
The state government issued orders on September 13 which calmed the age limit for direct recruitment for two years.
However, TRB does not relax the age limit.
The teacher’s aspirants submitted a petition to the school education department to increase the age limit because the council did not carry out the recruitment exam in the past two years considering the Covid-19 pandemic.
Representatives stated that they could not apply for a test because of the age limit.
“The age limit for teachers has increased from 40 years to 45 years for the general category and from 45 years to 50 years for the category ordered.
Orders will apply to the recruitment of postgraduate teachers as well,” commands issued by the Secretary of the Secretary of the Kakarla School.
Usha said.
This relaxation applies to notifications issued only until December 31, 2022.
“From January 1, 2023, the upper age limit for the general category will be 42 years and for the category ordered,” he said in order.
