UPTET 2022: 2 Kingpins Among 10 Arrested

Agra: Mathura Police have arrested ten people including five proxy candidates, who are also students, for alleged imitation in the UPTET exam (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility) held in the city on Sunday.
Two Masterminds, who were suspected of carrying out this operation over the past four years were also arrested by the police.
The police said that Gang Gang-Vijay Singh (32) and Hanumaram (27) – Hail from Rajasthan and they had arranged the suspects to imitate the actual candidates.
They charge Rs 1.25 -1.5 lakh per candidate and initially 10-15 percent paid to them.
The number of balances is paid after getting successful results, police said.
Speaking with Toi, the SSP Guarav Grover, said that five Impersonators, who were arrested by the police were students and actually prepared competitive exams and they came from Jalore in Rajasthan.
All of them in their 20s.
Describing the modus operandi geng, SSP, said that the client that appeared in the Tet exam contacted the gang gang through an intermediary.
After the deal was beaten, Vijay Singh asked students for their recognition card to identify imitators with similar physical appearance.
Gang members and imitators were arrested by the police when they allegedly divided the money after appearing in the exam on Sunday, officials said, adding that some of their colleagues escaped from the place.
Manhunt has been launched to arrest the suspects, said SSP.
FIR has been registered at 10 people under Section 419 (cheating on personation), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing shipping property), 467 (valuable security forgery), 468 (forgery for cheating), 471 (anyone cheating) or used dishonestly as any original document), 120 b (criminal conspiracy) from IPC and up public exam efforts.
