Mumbai: Crimes against women and children are riding in the city.
According to the Mumbai crime report 2021, 3,879 cases of crime against women were registered in 2021 compared to 3,317 in 2020.
Likewise, 2,159 cases of crime against children were registered in 2021 in the previous year.
The report showed that the police detected 79% (4,335) of 5,496 cases of crime against women and children in 2021 – a 3% increase in 76% in the previous year.
RTI Activists Arati Chauhan said that locking had seen an increase in crime against women and children, especially cases of attack.
