Coimbatore: The state government has formed an urban development authority for coimbatore and tirupur.
Announcement to create a separate body for a fast growing district in the revised budget speech in August 8.
The authority will have the main secretary of housing and urban.
The development department as chairman and collector as deputy chairman.
It will have the head of the Ministry of Finance, Transportation, Industry, Public Works, City Administration and Water Supply, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, City Director and State Planning, City Director and State Planning, Commissioner Coimbatore Corporation, Director of Tamil Nadu Nadu Nadu Council, The Managing Director of the Urban Habitat Development Board, Tamil Nadu, Director of the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board and the Managing Director of Chennai Metro Rail Limited will be an Ex-Officio member.
Two people will be appointed by the state government in sectors including housing, trade and industry and one of the academic institutions of the reputation involved in planning.

The main function of authority is to prepare development plans and implement it.
This will finance and implement the project for the development of urban areas.
This will have an advisory board with the Secretary of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises as a member of Ex-Officio.
Director of Industry and Trade, Police Commissioner, Chief Engineer Department of Public Works, Chief Engineer of Highways and rural work, Director of Health and Family Planning Services, Director of Higher Education and Director Joint City and State Planning will act as office members.
Authority will have three representatives from the trade union government to come from the train, two selected representatives from the Civic Corporation, three selected representatives from local bodies in the regions other than the corporation, four non-officials will be nominated by the state government of who someone will Become an engineer and a reputation economist.
One person with knowledge of architecture and city planning will be nominated by the state government and two of trade and industry.
