Ranchi: Jharkhand will soon boast of centralized digital infrastructure to provide all citizen services in urban areas in the state.
The centralized portal will not only provide services but will also help in monitoring and timely delivery of residents’ services to improve urban governance.
The centralized portal will be part of the national urban digital mission proposed and will be carried out in the state through the State Urban Development Department.
The plan was discussed during the meeting of the State Urban Development Department with the delegation of four visited members headed by the Director of the National Institute of Urban Affairs (Niua) Hitesh Vaidya.
The delegation held a discussion about the reform and initiative currently being carried out in the state and said that many ideas carried out in this country will also be included as part of the National Urban Digital Mission (NUDM).
Nudm was anchored by Nua which was launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs along with the Electronic Ministry and Information Technology to improve the convenience of life for citizens and facilitate electronic shipping city services in all 4,400+ ULB countries.
Speaking with Toi, Director of the Negara Urban Development Authority (Suda) Amit Kumar said: “We have resident centric services such as issuance of birth certificates / deaths, building plan approval, property tax collection, issuing trade licenses that are being carried out online.
But it is being done by Ulbs each and they work in isolation.
However, when we will have a central portal that will have a dynamic database with the shipping service option using technology intervention, it will help us in monitoring real-time and in cleaning backlog services.
“Besides that, Kumar said: “For example, if all ULBs in the country are connected with the central portal and we can confirm how much water connection is provided and what the backlog is currently and the reason behind it is clicked.
It will also help us in monitoring the delayed work and can take action remedial for cleaning backlogs e.
“Vaidya who also visits the control and command center at City City Ranchi campus says that the practices in the state are quite large and the integration of all citizen centric services will be a gift for people living in urban areas.” The supervision center in the city Smart Ranchi is a world class and this model can be taken for replication in other countries too, “said Vaidya.
The officials of the Urban Development Department asked the visit team to enter a real-time monitoring system for solid waste management so that the collection for the disposal of solid waste produced in Urban areas can be monitored in real time at all Ulbs.
