Chennai: confirms that no one can be allowed to tarnish the city, Madras High Court on Wednesday direct authorities to immediately remove all posters involved by candidates in the local body selection in Chennai.
The first bench was the chairman of Judge Munishwar Nath Bhandari and Justice D Bharatha Chakravarthy had also directed the Greater Chennai Corporation to restore the costs incurred to remove the posters of each candidate.
“Every order violation will be handled with an insult to the court process,” Bench said.
The judges explained that even if the poster was stuck with the approval of the property owner, the right permit must be obtained from the authorities concerned.
The court issued an order when removing the request to move by P Arumugam from Aiadmk who fought in Ward 117 from Chennai Corporation.
He accused that the ruling DMK candidate caused obstacles to him while campaigning for elections.
He further accused that the DMK candidate had attached posters on the poster he had stopped by.
The applicant produces a picture to prove his claim.
The Petitioner wants a court to direct the State Election Commission to provide unbroken and additional police forces for the environment.
Taking pictures on the note, the court wondered how these candidates were allowed to stick to posters indiscriminately in the city wall and direct the authorities to demand offenders, including the applicant, and submit a compliance report on February 21.
