Bhubaneswar: With the government office and the company closed for six days by stretching, starting from Tuesday, and the Covid-19 sidewalks imposed with the country at the Puja Durga celebration in urban areas, many city residents are heading towards the village to experience a unique celebration season this year.
Hotels and guest houses in leading tourist attractions throughout the state also see an increase in bookings, providing hope for business awakening to traders.
“This is a very necessary break.
So, without giving a second thought, I booked a room at the Homestay in Konark and began packing my bag.
Children are also tired of sitting at home without school or sightseeing for a long time because of a pandemic,” said Romilla Mohanty, an IT professional.
For the second year in a row, the state has imposed a limitation of Covid-19 in Durga Puja.
Puja organizers have limited the visit of people to a pandal to check the spread of the virus.
Night at night has been put in place in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar twin cities from Monday.
“There is no point in living in the city during this period because we also cannot visit Mandaps or we can take part in Puja activities.
There will be no pandal-hopping or gatherings with friends.
But there is no limit like that in rural areas .
So, we have decided to attend Puja Village this year, “said Rudra Prasad Jena, a government employee.
