The United Nations: The United States and Five Allies urge North Korea on Monday to leave the nuclear and ballistic missile programs that are prohibited and call for the UN Security Council to oppose the actions of “sustainable, destabilized and violate Pyongyang’s law,” including missile launches.
The six countries issued a statement ahead of a closed consultation of the council at the launch of the North January 5 of what was marked by Pyongyang as a hypersonic and South Korean missile said it was a normal ballistic missile that could be intercepted.
The meeting concluded before South Korea reported on Monday night that North Korea had fired unknown projectiles to the sea.
The strongest UN body does not take action.
Diplomats spoke with anonymous requirements because consultation closed said Russia and China again called for the appointment of several sanctions against North Korea.
Chin and Russia, which limited North Korea, which circulated the design of the resolution in November which emphasized the northern economic difficulties and called for the appointment of sanctions which included the prohibition of seafood and textile export, concluded imported petroleum products, and a ban on its citizens worked abroad and sent home their income.
The six countries urge all nations to implement UN sanctions against the north.
The Security Council initially imposed sanctions in North Korea after the first nuclear test explosion in 2006 and made them harder in responding to further nuclear tests and increasingly sophisticated nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
A statement by the US and members of the Albanian council, France, Ireland and England, joined Japan, condemned the January 5 missile launch, called it “clear violations of various security council resolutions.” North Korea “continuing to pursue weapons of massile and ballistic destruction is a threat to peace and international security,” said the statement, read by US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, surrounded by diplomats from five other countries.
The sixth state said the launch showed the determination of North Korea “to expand the ability of violating the law” which adds “risk of calculation and escalation errors and poses a significant threat to regional stability.” Every missile launch does not only advance the capabilities of North Korea but expand its weapons to export to illegal clients and arms dealers around the world and use money to be spent on countries who face “six countries).” Our goal is Denuclirization of the Korean Peninsula Complete, verified, and irreparable, “they said, expressing readiness to support diplomacy towards this goal.
It’s up to North Korea, six countries say, to” choose dialogue and peace over a weapons program that violates law and threaten “.
