WASHINGTON: A Federal Judge on Wednesday punished the United States Capitol Rioter who was known as “Qanon Shaman” for his horned head decoration to 41 months in prison for his role in the January 6 attacks that dialed by Donald Trump’s followers.
The prosecutor asked our district judge Royce Lamberth to impose a longer 51-month sentence in Jacob Chansley, who plugged guilty in September to block the official process when he and thousands of others stormed the building to stop the selection of Joe Biden’s congress.
.
The sentence fits one Lamberth who was worn on a mixed martial artist filmed by punching police officers during violence, sentenced to last week to 41 months in prison.
Both were the most rigid sentences dropped in one of the riot prosecutions which was about 675.
Lamberth said he believed Chansley, 34, had done many things to convince the court that he was “on the right track.” Chansley’s lawyer asked the judge for the time penalty presented for his client, who had been detained since his January arrest.
Chansley appeared in court at a dark green prison jumpsuit, with a shaved beard and head.
“The hardest part of this is that I know I have to be blamed,” Chansley said in a long statement before he was punished, describing a difficult childhood and said he had been responsible for his behavior.
“I thought I would get 20 years without imprisonment,” he said, adding: “This trauma has done something to me …
I have white hair to prove it …
on my chest …
on my arm …
…
I shouldn’t Have noble white hair.
“While in detention, Chansley was diagnosed by prison officials with temporary schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety.
When he entered his guilty request, Chansley said he was disappointed, Trump had not forgiven him.
Trump was nominated by the representatives of the representatives and was released by the Senate on charges of inciting January 6 riots for fiery speeches that preceded him, where he told his followers to fight like hell.
” Four people died in violence.
A capitol police officer who had been attacked by the demonstrators died on the day after the riots and four police officers who participated in the Capitol defense then took their own lives.
About 140 police officers were injured.
Most of the requests guilty on January 6 have so far been in cases involving mild violations without violence, but government lawyers seek prison sentences for several defendants who face more serious crime charges.
