LONDON: The United States has cash that funds famous Wuhan labs in China who are known to deal with deadly viruses and are also suspected places where SARS-COV-2, the virus behind the Covid-19 pandemic, leaked, claimed a new book .
The book titled “What really happened in Wuhan” was written by Australian investigative journalist Sharri Markson.
The book claimed that controversial research to make a stronger disease supported by Dr.
Anthony Fauci, US-infectious disease expert, Markson wrote at the time.
Markson stressed that the Wuhan Virology Institute (WIV) created a potentially deadly virus database with the help of Shi Zhengli, famous for ‘Batwoman’, in the laboratory with poor safety practices and no US supervision.
In March 2018, two years before the pandemic hit the world – perhaps from the same city / lab with US diplomat’s career Rick Switzer, along with his colleague Jamie Fusi, US consul-general in Wuhan, led the team to examine the WIV team.
The Switzer sent the cable to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in April, and clarified how the National Institutes of Health (NIH), led by Dr.
Anthony Fauci, was a funding research in Wuhan Lab – which included experimenting with Coronavirus, the Daily Mail reported.
Zhengli is working on the Chinese version of the Global Virome Project (GVP) – should be an international collaborative effort to identify in 10 years all planetary viruses that have potential pandemics or epidemics in humans.
“Here is a large fund, along with the National Science Foundation of China, from SARS research by the Virology Institute of Wuhan,” read the cable, according to the report.
“Last year, the Institute also held a visit from NIH, the National Science Foundation and experts from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston,” he added.
The book noted that even though there was US assistance in funding and training labs and technicians, only a few international researchers were welcomed to work in the facility.
“So the laboratory that works with the most deadly pathogen that is known to mankind effectively cut collaboration with the international community,” Markson’s comments in this book.
WIV and Zhengli are under intense supervision, after Coronavirus spreads like fire throughout the world.
Many governments and scientists worldwide suggest that the agency is the source of the Covid-19 outbreak, which leads to some not convincing probes and findings.
The US, along with the probe team from the World Health Organization, has criticized China because it does not work with investigations.
However, Zhengli and the Chinese government have denied their role in the origin of Covid-19.
They have fired the theory of Wuhan Lab leakage as “very impossible” and accused the US “political manipulation”.
